If KR hires from within it would show how much they don't give a shit. However, corporate is going to have a difficult time getting a great editor to take that spot. Wilkes-Barre is not exactly one of the garden spots of the country. In fact, many of the really talented people who left over the years, left because of the region, something locals have a hard time accepting. The smart ones went there originally because they knew it was a good news town, but at a certain point, who cares if the paper doesn't want to do great journalsm and the region is backwards.
