MELA ONLY TO STEAL THE BLANKET

Since decades every year in March a national level “Horse & Cattle Show” is held in Lahore Pakistan. Tourists and people of this field from world over attend this. In a remote village where life was very simple and limited to basics no one had seen city Lahore or this cattle show. Since horses and cattle are bread and butter line of village life once an elder decided to go Lahore and see the Show. March in Pakistan is cold. He took with him usual village essential his blanket which villagers use in place of an overcoat. In the show some one stole his blanket. When he returned back villagers gathered around him curiously to know about the show. Now the village VVIP visitor told them “what show; this show Lahoris had planned with deep conspiracy only to steal my coat”.

There are numerous stories about most expensive attack on the poorest nation Afghanistan who then had only old age ammunition and war communication system. Some suggest this was to end terrorism. Some say it to get bases. Some predict it is to closing the noose around China Iran Pakistan and lastly around India. Some forecast it is to control potential oil gas mineral reserves there.

For me this whole game is to bring Afghanistan to the clutches of IMF/Word Bank as it is beyond imagination that word’s poorest country and had no loan on it. And world bank and IMF (in fact behind scene drivers) cannot bear a country remaining independent sovereign. Today a loanee is the worst hostage in hands of lender or donor. A loan or a grant today is more bigger effective than nuclear weapon and the sure successful blackmailing tool. Traditions, customs, peoples habit and environments all have changed. For example 30/40 years back (i) in East a son could not even think of smoking a cigarette in presence of his father but today he does (ii) in summer fevers doctors strictly advised to cover the patient in blankets and not even to touch cold water but today even in winter fever patient is advised to remain in AC and drink lot of too cold 7 Ups. Gone are the days when to rule Indian subcontinent British Raj needed to establish an East India Company as a first step, send forces from London and post a Viceroy. Today same job can be done with more strong clutches sitting home through economic attack. Afghans best pride was not that British or Russians had not been able to conquer it but its main pride was it had never been under debit and that pride is in a days to go now.
