Subject: Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? I

saw The Favourite. What a great tour de force for the three actresses who lead this film: Olivia Colman (Golden Globes winner!), Rachel Wiesz and Emma Stone. I have loved Olivia Colman from Broadchurch and The Night Manager and she's incredible as Queen Anne. Rachel Wiesz was hilarious with her witty one-liners and Emma Stone was so not her usual sweet self. I loved this one. Now I need to see The Green Book and Vice.

We loved it. This time the script didn't really make a horrible person of either queen, but let us be sympathetic to both, showing them as edgy cousins who wanted to get along but got derailed by pressure from men in their lives. Margo Robbie and Saiorsi Ronin were fantastic.
We loved the favorite too, so sarcastically funny.
