Subject: I watched two movies this weekend, and The Crown is back!

Retaliation, starring Orlando Bloom as a childhood sexual abuse survivor who confronts the priest who abused him. No graphic scenes of children here, just the raw emotions of an adult working out pain and self-hatred. Really good.

The Life Ahead, with Sophia Loren as Madame Rosa: In seaside Italy, a Holocaust survivor with a daycare business takes in a 12-year-old street kid who recently robbed her. She's amazing in this, but the child actor is really the star.

And we have the introduction of Diana on the Crown. Interesting, as she is portrayed as the instigator of the relationship.

Diana portrayal. Everything I had read suggested that it went the traditional way of the family looking for a suitable "brood mare" for their horse-faced prince. Although I think her family may have pushed her in that direction as well.
I didn't see any movies this weekend. I am kind of interested in that new Kevin Costner/Diane Lane film coming out.

They play father and daughter, both writers. Her marriage is in trouble, and he tries to help and support her through the crisis. Hilarity ensues.
