Subject: Movie Monday! What did you see this weekend? I saw

the documentary Framing Britney Spears. I had seen the flurry of #FreeBritney hashtags on Twitter recently and decided to see what all the fuss was about. I had some basic familiarity with her issues and the existence of the conservatorship. But this documentary was an eye-opener. It really is kind of infuriating. The misogyny of the 90s entertainment media, especially when she was still underage, the merciless paparazzi and the fact that so many around her used (and continue to use) her as a human ATM is a sad story. #FreeBritney indeed.

My Octopus Teacher was amazing, beautiful. A filmmaker spends a year diving at a south African kelp forest, and befriends a common octopus.

Also paid $ to see Let Him Go. Would like my $ and time back, honestly. Kevin Costner basically plays his Yellowstone character and so does Diane Lane in this mashup of Taken/Deliverance. Sad, tragic, scary and violent.
