Subject: Anyone watching Matthew Rhys in Perry Mason on HBO?

First episode was last Sunday and I liked it. Very moody and noir set in LA in 1931/1932. Mason is a disgruntled bitter WWI vet who is a PI. Drinks too much and is not at all the successful legal eagle of the TV series and TV movies.

Matthew Rhys is really good. It also has John Lithgow, Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Shea Whigham (Eli Thompson in Boardwalk Empire).

Dark story about a kidnapped baby who is killed but I think it will be quite good. Lots of positive reviews.


Also on HBO is I May Destroy You. A half hour drama which I am not sure I like. Basic story is a woman who goes out partying with friends and comes to think/realize she may have been assaulted. Only 3 episodes in but there is a LOT of drug use, sex and language lol it IS HBO. Plus I am having trouble with the accents. Most are British which I am normally good with but I think they mumble a bit and sometimes there is too much other background noise.

Trying to get my money's worth out of HBO :)

not all of them. I have been trying to catch up with some of the HBO movies, miniseries and documentaries on OnDemand. I recently got HBOMax and I ordered a very long HDMI cable to hook up my laptop to the TV and I will start watching The Wire and The Sopranos as Max has the entire library available and I got HBO after those shows ended. Summer viewing!
