Hi Kim,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you! I just washed it with a show sheen horse shampoo, and then I put Shapely's M-T-G and rubbed it into the area, every day for a week or so. Within 24 hours all redness was gone and since then he has grown back out about 2 inches of hair in that spot. the M-T-G really worked well for me. He still looks silly but I haven't decided what to do with the uneven growth. I know I should probably just cut it all to the same length, but I haven't had the heart to do it yet.
