Subject: Stallion number
In reply to: Didi 's message, "What is number after name mean?" on 07:03:22 01/01/11 Sat

Hi Didi,
The number after the name of a Friesian stallion is simply a count of the number of approved stallions there have been since the founding of the FPS studbook in 1879. I'm not sure what the name of the first approved stallion was, but early names you may run into include De Regent 32, who was the 32nd stud approved, as compared to today, with well known stallions such as Anton 343, being the three-hundred and forty third stud approved by the dutch registry.
