Subject: What constitutes saddleseat/hunt seat for Friesians?

Hi. I'm new to the Friesian breed. I have shown other breeds that are pretty distinct between hunter seat and saddleseat, but 3-4 years ago I saw Friesians start to filter into our show circuit. It's very confusing to me to try and tell which ones should be hunters and which ones should be saddleseat. Some of the hunter Friesians are lifting level, and some of the saddleseat Friesians are only lifting level or a little lower. And some of them are very obviously suited for saddleseat, as they are lifting way above level. My question is more geared towards the hunters. Could those hunters who are lifting level go saddleseat? And should those saddleseat Friesians who are only lifting level or lower be hunters? What is the cutoff point? Are there rules about this? Other breeds like Saddlebreds and Morgans are much more obvious and distinct about what seat their horse is suited for. These Friesians have me confused about this. Anyone who is familiar with this please comment. Thanks.

Laura
