Has your stallion been to a Keuring before? Or is he still foalbook?
For a stallion an IBOP test does not add a whole lot. Since foalbook stallions can only become FoalbookStar, they can't become Model or Crown.
If you are trying to get him approved, he will need to do the 100day test, and he won't need an IBOP either.

That said, an IBOP test is a means of evaluating the horse under saddle. The judges will be watching the horse's quality of gaits, his balance, suppleness and suspension, ability to collect and extend and so on. It is not like a dressage test, so going off pattern does not matter.
Although they won't be looking at or judging the rider, a better rider will be able to get more out of the horse. For a lot of horses (mares), the score of their IBOP determines whether they will become Model or Crown, so most people have a pro ride their horses if they are unsure.
