Things can change quickly in wartime, but as of now, it appears that the 3,000 members of the Louisiana National Guard's 256th Brigade Combat Team will be home this fall. The first wave is scheduled to return from Iraq in October. Maj. Gen. Bennett C. Landreneau, adjutant general for the Louisiana National Guard, said the group will not be deployed for at least another five years.
