Date Posted: 05:48:31 03/10/06 Fri I can't tell anyone in the military, (past, present, and future), how proud some of us are to call ourselves Americans, and it is because of people like you that we have the freedom to think and say it. I grew up in the military lifestyle (my dad was a fighter pilot in the Air Force), and it was the greatest thing I think my parents could have done for my brother and me. Despite the arguing about the reason we first went over there, I believe that we NEED to be there. I think that most of you are the strongest and bravest our country has to offer, and you are showing people how fantastic freedom can be. It is funny how often you can have a conversation with someone who doesn't quite understand how much good we are doing over there, but after you talk with them for a while, they start to understand how good we have it over here. So what if Americans are "Proud" people. WE HAVE A RIGHT TO BE!! We have people like you who protect that right and the freedom that so many people live without. I live in Texas now, but I went to LSU and graduated from the Univ of New Orleans, and I just got back from Mardi Gras. Everytime a military float would pass by, it would get the most cheers and screams and jumping up and down than any other float,(including the ones with Dan Akroyd, Willie Nelson, and some Soap Opera stars). Some even saluted. It was a terrific sight to see. Granted, it would be an even better sight to see all of you return home safely and have Iraq be, stay, and thrive as a democracy, but until then, know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers. If there is anything that your unit need over there that can be sent through the mail, you have my email addres, just let me know. God speed and God bless you, your family for supporting your choice to protect the rest of us, and your unit for standing up for all of us here back home. We love you all!
