I supported this move in the past -- if it was done with a good amount of thought behind it -- and not just to have more beer money. Talk to someone about investing the money. Use the money you save wisely, and maintain an open dialog with the school, and if necessary, community (although they are stupid beyond belief and shot themselves in the foot with those new ordinances).
This by no means is a free license to return to the ways of the past that: failed out entire pledge classes, cost us the crag, and alienated the administration. Follow the path Almonrode and Doogie set - it pays to be involved in student organizations and the CGA.
Take this as an opportunity to move ahead, and if you are gonna do it - do it right and pledge the right people. Don't hand over a new house to kids that will not see graduation.
