Thanks for posting an update Billy, I know that we are not seeing the 'traffic' here like we did on the last site, I hope that doesn't continue, as for the going national issue... We do have alot to thank Sigma Pi for. Here are the benefits off the top of my head:
1. INSURANCE - I know that alot of brothers are thinking that the insurance doesn't cover most areas in which we are exposed to liability, but it does help ALOT.
2. National recognition - We have recognition nationally that we can't get any other way, I know that I have spoken to many other chapters and have been invited to do to some really cool stuff, if the brothers can't afford to do it that's not the chapters fault, its the members.
3. Recognition on campus - what does that do for us? Bloom's greek budget was $76,000 last year. If we don't take advantage of the programs that's our fault. Preston Herring gave the IFC $5,000 for party managment. As Delta Pi we don't get any of that.
4. Rush - we can use the sigma pi advantage here, if we choose. Do we have effective rushes, no. Partly my own fault this last semester, I bite off more than I could chew. Sorry about that.
5. Continuity - We have resources that we don't use, like consultants and what not. Sigma Pi can help keep the fraternity together even when the key leaders graduate.
Well that the big stuff that I can tell you off hand. Don't get me wrong, I love the Delta Pi history, but we ahve to look ahead. Our active brothers HAVE to work at the Fraternity for it to be a sucess, shit doesn't just happen. It takes hard work from everyone, not just the officers and that's the majority of the problem. Until that time comes it doesn't matter what the name is.
