This is just a carbon copy of my reply to Card. I thought it warranted it's own topic for the masses to find. I don't claim it to be 100% accurate, but it's pretty darn close.

Hey Card, good questions. First let me correct my terminology. There are task dungeons and dungeons that are called Instanced Adventure Wings. We'll talk about the task dungeons first.

*This is right out of the Prima Guide*
A dungeon task is a task that sends players into an instance task dungeon in order to complete it. There are 3 variations that players receive.

1. Kill named monster
2. Kill ## of monsters in dungeon (ie kill 9 skeletons)
3. Clear entire dungeon.

Your reward will be based off of the difficulty of it. Clearing the entire dungeon will bring you more experience and money than just killing 9 skeletons. The only thing that the mobs drop are cash.

In order to get one of these tasks assigned to you, you must visit as TASK MASTER. In Albion they are located at:

1-10 Cotwold Village (by the bind stone)
11-20 Prydwen (not sure where he is for Prydwen)
21-30 Adribards Retreat (on the steps going into the keep)
31-40 Caer Ulfwych
41-50 Castle Sauvage

When you right click on the Task Master he'll offer you an assignment. YOu get to pick if it is a melee type dungeon or a long corridor type dungeon for ranged attacks. Obviously pick whichever is appropriate. Once you start the tasks, if you zone out you'll have to get a new task.

*Of note* Mobs will most likely be blue to you until lvl 20 when they will turn yellow.

It has been my experience that all of the task masters are VERY CLOSE to the actual dungeon entrance. Just pay attention to what your journal says. It'll say something like "Kill 9 skeletons in the caves to the south east". Run southeast for less than a minute, and you should see the typical DAOC dungeon entrance.

Also, when you first zone into the Task Dungeon you will notice a message in your chat box. It will say something like this: "This dungeon has been adjusted for one level 29 player with a 50% instance bonus". HOW NICE IS THAT!!!
So with every kill you will get a HUGE bonus, much like a camp bonus, added to your experience.

The cash is wonderful too. Go anywhere else in the game and kill a yellow in the 20's and you'll get a smidgen of silver. Starting at lvl 27 I was averaging well over 30-40 silver per kill. I had an occasional 16silver. Then at lvl 28 I was getting 40-50 silver for every kill. The the cash reward for finishing the task was 2-3 gold. Two tasks typically takes me to about a bubble away from gaining a full level.

INSTANCED ADVENTURE WINGS

These are dungeons that have been added to new and existing dungeons across the lands. For instance Keltoi has two. The Roman Aquaducts have 2. And many many others have two. These are instanced dungeons that you can go into solo or in a group. As your group moves through the dungeon gaining experience, the dungeon grows with you. So when your group zones in, it might say "The dungeon is adjusted for 8 lvl 30 players. As your group levels, the dungeon will grow harder. In these Instanced Adventure Wings, you can pick up the Auralite which can be used in the Inconnu Crypt to purchase items. There are also rare drops and one or two named mobs with specific drops at the end of the dungeon. For soloing though, it produced far less experience pts than the task dungeons. Just try it out for yourself and see what you think.

Well, that's about it. I best close before my wife bites my head off. We're going shopping today! Yaaaayyy!! Woohoo!!! Shopping!!! :-)

Take Care and Happy Hunting!

Lance
