I hope she knows how much peace and joy she is giving us all. What a wonderful women she is. Dan was such a lucky man. And she a lucky women.

They also give Dan a more human face for me...it's probably bizarre but I never really thought about him having some of the same kinds of problems that we have in our own household (the story about Rufus the cat and his peeing in the house). And some have made me very sad, for instance, the one about the photo of Fiona on the Christmas card. I also had a cat that disappeared, but I was lucky and found him 4 months later. It's horrible having a pet disappear without a trace. I hope that Jean also is lucky enough to have Fiona come home one of these days. And about the Rufus story...it sounds as though they were considering selling the ranch well before Dan was diagnosed. I found that interesting.

He couldn't be on the boat all the time. I laughed at the picture where he is in shorts holding the cat, can you imagine Dan cutting down brush? It was nice to read on the Christmas card they were sending out that he was not so ill for as long as I feared. Yes he had bad days but it seemed to me that the time before his passing was very quick. I am sure it felt like forever for Dan and Jean.
