Now that Jean has posted links to Jon and Terry's sites, I see a few more people have posted comments on the blog. I was reading one from a fan named butch, and his last sentence is "You lived the life a lot of his fans dreamed of.....being Dan's friend".

Doesn't that ring so true? His music was the draw and the driving force, but the fascination goes deeper. Dan is one of a very few musical artists that I've admired and that remain a constant part of my life today. And of those few, he's the one that I still want to know more about - the one I would love to have known as a friend. There was never any chance in hell of that ever happening, but the desire was there, and is still there, even now that he's gone.

I know in interviews Dan said that the fans who think they want to hang out with him and be his friend, would ultimately be disillusioned if they met him, because they don't really know anything about him, they only know his music. That's true, I'd have to agree, but you know, the more I read what his friends write about him, what they remember and what they loved about him, I find it hard to believe I would've been disillusioned by knowing him.

I agree with you Kelly, I don't think there is anything Dan could have said or done to not have someone want to be his friend. Jean seems to understand the way we feel also and is so agreeable to share her life and love with us. She has said Dan said he had the best fans in the world and she agrees...why wouldn't he want us for his friends.
