My first thought would be Colorado because I think Andy Katz lived there back then. Seems that would've been more convenient, but I don't really know. I don't remember reading anything about the location of the cemetery.

That photo has always creeped me out. But it's not the cemetery, it's the doll. Just too creepy for me. Though without the doll, I don't think the gravestone would convey the feeling he was going for. Maybe some imagery from the Sand And The Foam could've worked - a child sillouted, looking back on an old pathway, or an old lily in the page of a book? I don't know, maybe those are too isolated. But I'd prefer anything over the doll!

I think in the Portraits booklet it says the photo was taken in Maine, but the booklet is out in the car and I'm too lazy to run out and confirm this. The area looks very Maine-ish.
