In reply to: Nancy 's message, "Soundstage show" on 12/24/07 12:51pm

I just checked the PBS site this morning, and was very surprised to see they have Dan's Soundstage show scheduled for this February. For all who missed it before, finally there's another chance to record Dan's performance. Make sure you check your local PBS station for the correct date it will be shown in your area, because the local stations don't necessarily air the show on the same day and time.

Dan Fogelberg

The late Dan Fogelberg’s energy is infinite on this SOUNDSTAGE celebration, which kept audiences on their feet rocking along to sentimental classics “Same Old Lang Syne,” “Part of the Plan” and “Leader of the Band.” Folk-rock icon Fogelberg sprinkles the set with anecdotal sidebars and smooth, country-rock works from his CD Full Circle . Tracks from that album include “Reach Haven Postcard” and the title track, “Full Circle.” The singer-songwriter’s sentimental style and classic charisma evoke the moods and melodies that he molded in the mid-70s. Airdate : 02/21/2008 Time : 10:00 - 11:00 pm SOUN # : 1110
Original Broadcast : 9/9/2004

Thanks, Kelly, for the find. It'll air in NY Metro on 2/22/08 at 12/30A.

I was on the coast of Maine that September night in '04. I had set everything to record before I left home but I did something to the "start" time so my recording began in the 2nd half of his 1st song. This time I'll be ready.

It's too bad we're all so spread out. I'd love to be with his most faithful for a Soundstage party.

Hey Mountainbird,

A Sountstage party would be cool. Dan music all night long. After Soundstage, we could watch Greetings from the West, and then watch or listen to any other DF gems we might have. It might actually be fun, aside from all the tears and sadness. At least we'd have folks to share the tears with. You're right, it is a shame we're all so spread out.

I've been feeling really low again lately. Keep falling back to the same place. Can't get passed the lost hope.

What channel is it on in the NY/NJ/Pa area? I still can't find a listing.
Can't wait to see it..its been missing too long. This is something they should have replayed when he announced he was ill..out of respect at least.

I'll get the broadcast via WNET, Channel 13. Email me if I can help you.

Thanks for the info. I see that channel listed on the soundstage site but they don't go to the end of the month on the program list. I'll put it on my calendar. I am so glad they are finally showing it again. I never saw it the first time it ran.

Well, apparently it isn't being rebroadcast in the Boston area. I recorded it, but of course the quality isn't as good. Enjoy your viewing, all you lucky folks privileged to see another broadcast!

Nothing on the TV roster here in Cleveland, either...

Keep checking your local stations, because they may show it a week or two later. Right now, both the Boston and Cleveland PBS Digital channels list Dan's performance for the 21st, I think. So it's still possible they'll show it on the regular PBS station the following week, or week after that. They only publish the schedule for two weeks in advance. Also depending on what TV service you have, you may get more than one PBS Station, and not realize it. Check your channel lineup.

If you have digital service, you'll have a better chance of catching it. Ever since this digital business started, it seems PBS has favored it over their regular channel. I don't have digital, so I'll just keep checking for it to be listed for my regular PBS channel.

Good Luck folks.

Well, Dan's Soundstage will be rebroadcast here after all, but only on the HD channel. Which, of course, I don't have. Our local PBS only has listings two weeks ahead, so it may yet come to the regular channel.
