Dan's Pagosa Springs real estate is under contract. First Minstrel, now this, both within six months of 12/16/07. My head is spinning. Best wishes to both new owners. Let the legacy pay forward.

Wow... I wonder who's buying it? I hope the new owner(s) keep the integrity of the property (i.e., not parcelling off portions of it). I' like to think that the new owner is a like soul who can appreciate the beauty and privacy (as well as the history!) of the ranch. Wonder if the ranch name will change??

It *is* sad to see another of his dearly-loved possessions changing ownership. Makes me more thankful than ever that I got to see the place and the town last fall while it was still "his".

My guess is that it has to be difficult for Jean to give up these places and things that she and Dan shared. However, they *are* just "things"... And the memories and love that they shared in those places are what's really important.

The memory of Mountain Bird Ranch will live on for everyone, and anyone, who has been there...

I just accessed the site, Mary, and nothing has changed. It doesn't even mention a prospective buyer or contract. Maybe it won't until the title transfers.

You're right. Having just sold one house and bought another, I know that the place stays on the market until the closing. Nothing is final until the ink is dry on the paper. You don't want someone asking, "Why is it back on the market?" or "Why did the deal fall through?"
