Yes, it's a question of supply and demand. College students usually are only available during vacations and on weekends if there are no exams coming up. Once they are trained to do what the job's needs are, they have to leave. Firms need stability and long-term commitment. Blame the labor unions' blackmail for requiring "the moon and the stars" from employers - or else they have their members go out on strike. Asian employees are unlikely to go on strike; they badly need the job, not the general poverty of the many (unskilled) others in their area.
