Subject: Soap opera storylines --a question!

Hi Dan!

I know that the shows are taped well in advance. I've heard that some are taped 4 weeks ahead.

Even so, is it possible that fans can change the direction of a storyline via feedback? For example, if spoilers and rumors indicate that something is going to occur that fans absolutely OBJECT to, and we speak out, can changes still be made to the story? I realize that most stories will air anyway, but if the protest has merit, and fans are screaming to be heard, I'd like to think that there is a chance that changes will be made even if it happens down the line. For example, someone is the father of a child, and later it is revealed that this is NOT so but that somebody else is!
