Dan,

I know you can't respond to all the messages you get and I don't expect you to respond to this one. Just wanted you to know that your fans are legion. They are in great numbers and they adore you. Focal groups are about as accurate as the Neilsens which do not even bother to record the millions of households that work every day and tape the show. If that is what they are basing this ludicrous decision on, then we have bigger troubles ahead with the ABC lineup.

You had so many of us in tears as we watched your gut wrenching performance when Duke died. We cried along with you because you put on the performance of a lifetime. We cried with you when you found out that Ace was not really your son. It's easy to believe that your heart is in every scene and every word that you say because you throw yourself into your work with such passion. You are every bit a leading man here. You scream leading man....big leading story and yet you have been put on the sidelines for reasons that make no sense to any columnists or other scoopsters I know. We have never been able to figure out why someone with your looks and talent has not been given bigger story consistently.

I am getting roughly 2100 hits per day on my spoiler site (according to my counters) and I am using those numbers to get the message out with my next column over the weekend. I will post addresses and comment line numbers and ask my readers to stop what they are doing and let the show know how much you mean to them and how integral you are to this show and it's cast. You are not only well liked and respected by the fans but you are obviously very well thought of by those that work with you every day. It speaks volumes about who you are Dan. Your honesty with the fans has always been incredibly appreciated. We know that we can count on you for the truth and that you never disappoint in any way.

If for some reason, our many voices can't quiet this storm and restore you to a full contract for years to come, please don't let this do anything but make you realize that another door is bound to open for you and when it does, your fans will be there cheering you on.
