Andrea, a contract is a guarentee that you will be paid so many shows a week for a certain amount of time usually 13 weeks or 26 weeks some times 52 weeks. At the end of any cycle the production company has the right to fire or replace you with a certain amount of notice. The production company has all the power they can fire you but you can't leave the show until you contract is up. If it's a one year contract then you have the right to leave at the end of one year if it is 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 you get the idea but they can fire you at the end of any cycle. thanks for the Q. Dan
