Subject: Wimborne v Poppies

I was disappointed to read a number of messages regarding the Wimborne v Poppies match on how the fans would be glad to "see some old faces and show how them how the team had improved"?? in addition "Poppies do not score many goals and any way they are too old".

Surprise, surprise the old faces did return and scored more goals than the "improved" home side and were still going strong at the end of the match not bad for a team of old players who can't score!(this was the second time remember Boxing day 2007).

Still I am sure reasons for these minor blips (which one of the top 5 have they beaten????) was that the opposition had the nerve to chase, tackle, compete and be focussed on winning instead of allowing the home side to stroll around pass the ball unopposed to each other.

Oh well roll on next season.
