Most Wimborne Fans knew at the start of the season that the combination of Roast/Percival would challenge for the best two centre backs in the Wessex League, so signing Josh Thomas and making him captain was a surprise. Now that Percival has got into the side, he is improving with every game and Roast as a stand in captain has been surperb. Thomas is good on the ball but he is slow and the escuse that he played with an injury has to be taken with a pinch of salt, because without Ollie Phillipson-Masters clearing up behind him, we could have lost at Downton quite easily.I have not yet met one Wimborne Fan who thinks that Tom Vavrecka is a good player, just ordinary and one only has to look at the goals that Culliforth is scoring for Poole Town to see that was a mistake that was to let him go. James Stokoe can be quick when he wants to be, but currently he does not work hard enough for the team with some selfish running off the ball, but he can only get better. The signings of Kevin James and Mark Jones who are both class players has to be applauded. Adam Batchelor on the line does worry me as presumably he makes the decision fron the dug out and in respect of the drop points against New Milton (I know Hutchings dropped a clanger) but when NM went down to ten men with at least twenty minutes to go, we still had three defenders marking one forward, instead of going four attackers/four midfielders and two defenders, particularly with the space that was vacant on the right wing. With the Langrish brothers, Steve Whitcher and reliable sub Steve Moore, a signing of a quality midfielder would ensure that we must have a great chance to go further than the quarter finals of the FA Vase this year providing we get a kind draw. When Christer Warren plays the whole team plays well and hopefully he would have seen that from the line at Alresford and Downton. I look forward to comments from other Wimborne Fans who have attended at Cuthbury as the gates have been excellent
