I'm afraid that is your enamel actually rotting. Happened to me from years of purging and the only way my dentist could save my teeth was with veneers. They're very costly and most insurances don't cover the cost because they look at it as cosmetic (I paid $5000.00 out of pocket to have 6 or 7 top row teeth done and I'm due to get some of the lowers done now).

Ask your dentist if they have (and they should) available for you to purchase for about $12.00 per tube a special toothpaste you use once or twice a week that has extra strength flouride. I can't remember the name of the stuff I use - I'll try to remember to write it down tonight and post it back tomorrow for you. The difference with this toothpaste is you brush then spit but don't rinse so whatever's left in your mouth has time to absorb into your teeth and gums and it does help but is no permanent solution.

Good luck, Lara and I'm glad you're trying to stop purging. You're doing well.

I on the other hand have been losing weight and it's starting to scare me. Knowing that Chocolate is a recovering anorexic I wanted to talk to her about it but I haven't heard from her.

I'll just hang in there I guess. Hugs! :o)
