I am a nutricianist (but part-time studying to become a dietician I go to school one day a week) anyway two days a week I just do all the things a nutricianist does (diabetes patient, cancer patients etc) three days a week I treat overweight kids. These kids need to lose really a lot of weight to prevent future health problems. Actually it is really nice, these kids are really fun, parents are horrible. I always send them outside.
A lot of parents seem to think that it is the kids fault that he or she is overweight and these parents believe that they have the right to call their kids names and stuff. When a 7 year old is seriously overweight it cannot be the kids fault, it couldnt have drove in his car to the supermarked and bought a lot of food with his credit card, parents decide what kind of food is in their house and what their child eats. So my work also involves talking to parents about what the child should eat. I mostly talk to the kid in private (in my opinion kids have a right to privacy too) and the stories you hear then are sometimes awful.

It is nice that you are going to work with kids, they are really fun to work with They are also, in my opinion, easier to work with, they are more honest and their behaviour is more changeble than adult behaviour. Kids can still be shaped in the right direction. I believe it is a very rewarding job.
