JACKALS ACQUIRE MCINTOSH FROM TRASHERS
10/04/05
Elmira, NY – The Elmira Jackals announced today they have completed a trade with the Danbury Trashers for goaltender Ryan McIntosh.

The Jackals acquired the rights for McIntosh and sent the rights to defenseman Sergei Durdin to Danbury. Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach Perry Florio will be working out the details of the contract to sign him for training camp.

McIntosh, a native of Calgary, Alberta, returns for his second term with the Jackals after he spent the 2003-04 season in Elmira. McIntosh split the 2004-05 season between Richmond and Danbury. He was 10-10-0 in 23 games for the Riverdogs with a 3.65 Goals Against Average and a 0.904 Save Percentage before being traded to the Trashers, where he posted a 3-4-2 record in 11 games in Connecticut.

“Ryan will be signed in time for training camp,” said Head Coach Perry Florio. “He gives us a very experienced back up for Nick Boucher and he is a fierce competitor between the pipes for our team.”

McIntosh, who will turn 29 on Saturday, posted a 9-11-3 record in 27 games for the Jackals in 03-04 with a 3.22 GAA and a 0.898 save percentage. He has played for six different teams in the UHL, this is his first time returning to an old club.

Don’t miss the Jackals Exhibition game against the Adirondack Frostbite Friday October 14th at 7:05 pm at the First Arena. The Jackals will start the 2005-06 UHL regular season Friday October 21st in Illinois against the Rockford Ice Hogs. Elmira will hit the ice at the First Arena for the home opener on Saturday October 29th at 7:05 pm against the Roanoke Valley Vipers.
