愛護動物協會人狗同樂日 / 警犬隊服從比賽將於周日舉行
首次公開警犬隊服從比賽，並接受愛護動物協會狗隻訓練課程報名

香港愛護動物協會將於本周日(2001年3 月18日)舉行第十五屆籌款活動人狗百萬行，是項活動的嘉賓包括香港英商會行政董事夏偉邦准將及警務署行動副署長張之琛先生。當日更會首次公開予市民欣賞警犬隊服從比賽，這項比賽更邀得英國薩里郡警犬訓練學校Mr. Mick Juniper, Mr. Terry Ashcroft及香港狗會林漢環先生出任評判。

此外，人狗同樂日亦可讓各狗主及其愛犬一同參與各項遊戲，包括「服從邀請賽」、「擔腸唔偷食」、「牽引你的狗」、「障礙賽」、「重投懷抱」及「捐山窿」等形形式式的狗隻服從比賽。狗主並可即場為愛犬報讀香港愛護動物協會主辦的犬隻訓練班。此外，警察樂隊及香港航海學校樂隊亦會於會場演奏悅耳音樂，增加會場氣氛。

香港愛護動物協會人狗同樂日將於2001年3月18日﹝星期日﹞，上午十時半至下午四時半﹝上午九時開始接受報名﹞假粉嶺皇后山軍營警犬隊總部舉行。大會更將於當日安排穿梭巴士接載狗主及犬隻。

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) will hold the 15th SPCA Dogathon, an annual fundraising event scheduled on Sunday, 18 March 2001. The guests of honour will be Brigadier Christopher Hammerbeck, C.B., Executive Director, British Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong; and Mr. Cheung Chi Shum, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations.

The highlight event of the SPCA Dogathon will be the Police Dog Trials, open to the public for the first time. The judges of these trials will be Mr. Mick Juniper, Mr. Terry Ashcroft of Surrey Police Dog Training School, U.K. and Mr. Nelson Lam of the Hong Kong Kennel Club.

Meanwhile, other dog owners and their pets can have a fun social gathering together at the event and they can also register on site for the dog-training courses run by the SPCA. These other dogs are invited to participate in the Invitational Obedience Competition. These fun contests will be made up of several training games, including "Sausage Delivery Services", "Lead Your Dog", "Obstacle Course", "Fastest Run Back to Owner", and "Tunneling". The Police Band and the Hong Kong Sea School Band will be providing live music on site.

The SPCA Dogathon and Police Dog Trials, held at the Police Dog Unit, Queen's Hill Camp, Fanling, will be open to the public from 10:30 a.m. (registration from 9 a.m. onward) to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, 18 March 2001. Shuttle bus rides for dog owners and their pets are also available at minimum cost.
