In reply to: T'bel-Quilth 's message, "Mmm... PG-13... ErImean.. *cough*" on 19:46:51 03/30/05 Wed

"Mmm? Yes, quite so." She answers, a drowsy contented-cat smile on her face. One hand reaches out to idly play with a lock of the bronzerider's hair, which she was glad that he kept long. He was so considerate and gentle, she felt immensely lucky after all the horror stories her greenrider colleagues had told her about flights and the days after them. Perhaps, she thinks mischieviously, it's because they're both craftbred and therefore somehow chaste. Now she feels so safe here, and for once in a very long time, the hovering worries and stress are gone, and the defenses she'd built up since becoming Weyrwoman are down. Now she just...is. I hope you choose Quilth every time, she advises Shrineth, who merely gives a quiet snort of breath that may or may not be acknowledgement of the statement. Admiring the look of T'bel's very tan skin against her own, much paler skin is a fun activity that takes up the next ten minutes of her time, and then her green flitter arrives.

Sitting up, Wessae's mind immediately switches back to Weyrwoman mode as she's expecting that the green flit, who has become so essential to her along with the brown one, is carrying an urgent (or not so urgent) message of some sort. But Doe has no scroll attached to her leg. Instead, there are two objects, one in each forepaw, that the flit had dared not go between with. Gently, Wessae takes them from her and gives her a loving scratch on the eyeridges, cooing her appreciation and affection for her trusted little friend.

"Eggs!" She exclaims, cupping them both in her hands as she studies them. Casting one eye on T'bel, she smiles and wordlessly first opens his hand and then places the larger of the two eggs in his palm. "You need a flit, too. As the new Weyrleader, you're going to get alot of messages and summons, and these flits are more valuable than anything. The eggs are newly laid," she's not sure how she knows that, but it's probably through some subconcious projection fo Doe's, "so they won't hatch for a little while. We'll just have to keep them warm." Planting a kiss on his shoulder, she covers the small egg that's about half the size of a meatroll, if that.

Shrineth, in her half sleep, mumbles about another flit as she relishes the close company of the brown sized Quilth. Something brushes her mind and makes her raise her head, casting it from side to side. It's not a mindvoice, or even anything she can pin down, but she feels as though someone familiar has arrived. Unable to really determine if she's right, she decides not to disturb Wessae with it, as her rider is truly relaxed for once in a long time. And she herself feels the same way. Besides, if it was dangerous, she would know that too. She was one of the smartest in all the weyr. For now, she settles against her Quilth and thrums happily with delight.

"I guess we should get up and face the world sometime, eh?" Wessae voices reluctantly, not wanting to say it but knowing it is inevitable.
