"Good," Marja says, obviously relieved, and quickly doses the girl before tearing open her paper packet and threading the needle. As soon as Sahira is safely out of it, she gestures at D'rai to hold the girl's arm just so and begins to stitch the long wound, pulling away the temporary bandage just far enough for each suture. When the gash is nothing more than thin red line held together by a long row of stitches, she sets the thread and needle aside and dives into her bag again, emerging with more bandages and a small jar. The Healer carefully slathers Sahira's wound with the salve, which smells strongly of numbweed, and once again wraps the arm - taking care this time to make sure that the bandage is tied just right.

D'rai? Sengaloth says suddenly, and the bluerider's eyes go distant, though he continues to hold the arm as Marja had indicated. Jesaketh says that the Weyrwoman told Z'ni to bring the other girl up here. He's bringing food, too.

"Z'ni is bringing the other girl," D'rai reports as Marja finishes bandaging Sahira's arm. "And food."

Startled, Marja looks up, then smiles. "Good! And could you ask him to get more bandages before he comes?" Standing, she carries the old, bloodied bandages and D'rai's jacket over to a corner and drops them there, for disposal later.

Watching his ruined jacket with a slightly mournful gaze - it had been a brand-new jacket, made just for this Hatching - D'rai nods. "I'll tell him." He shakes his head, deciding the jacket isn't really important, then addresses Sengaloth. /Tell Jesaketh that the Healer needs more bandages, too./ He recieves a feeling of wordless assent in reply.

"If someone else is coming," Marja continues, "We need to move her a bit. It's a big bed, just move her over a bit." Assuming that D'rai will follow her instructions, she returns to her bag.

A few minutes later, a green dragon lands on the ledge outside. "D'rai, help me out here," Z'ni calls. "I don't want her to walk if she doesn't have to." The bluerider hurries over, and Z'ni hands Isabel down to him before climbing off himself, using Jesaketh's outstretched leg rather than doing his usual vault down since he has a large tray balanced precariously in one hand. "Whoo! I need to pick up one of those little firelizards Talla's got, to help me manage this stuff," he grins, following D'rai into the main weyr. "Your dinner, Healer," he continues with a polite nod, setting down the tray on a convenient table. "And your patients'." He glances pointedly at D'rai to emphasize the absence of either dragonrider's name on that list of dinner guests. He hadn't been able to carry enough for all five. Then he pulls several rolls of bandages out of his jacket, setting them on the bed with a triumphant air.

Rolling his eyes expressively at his brother - "I know, I'm not stupid" - D'rai lays Isabel gently down on the bed and steps back, giving Marja an inquisitive look. "Do you need anything more, Healer?" he asks politely.

"I don't think so, but if you could stay for a little while longer, I'd appreciate it," Marja tells him, before focusing all of her attention on Isabel. Z'ni has changed her clothing, the Healer notes in approval, and the shirt is much easier to pull up without revealing anything embarassing. The skirt fastens up the front, as well, and she can leave a flap covering the most sensitive parts of the girl's anatomy while still revealing the bandaged leg. "How are you feeling?" the Healer asks, without stopping her work. Removing the temporary bandages, she begins to treat the stitched wounds with more of the salve she'd used on Sahira. It's mostly numbweed, but Marja recognizes the texture, color, and scent, and is sure there are other beneficial herbs mixed in.

"Oh!" Digging around in his jacket, Z'ni pulls out two squares of folded cloth, which he shakes out to reveal a skirt identical to the one he'd put on Isabel and a sleeveless shirt. "I brought these for the other girl. Do you think we should change her now?"

"Wait until she wakes up," D'rai remonstrates, saving Marja the effort of saying something similar. "Then you can give her the chance to do it herself."

Z'ni nods. "Gotcha." Remembering something, he goes over to the tray and pours some water from a covered pitcher into one of the cups stacked beside it, then brings the cup over to Isabel. "Here you go," he tells her, presenting her with the water and earning himself an abstractedly approving glance from the Healer.
