Sugar Loaf, NY – Kings Theatre Company is proud to present four special performances of Cooking with the Calamari Sisters: Mangia Italiano! on the brand new lakeside Wharf Stage at the Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts in Sugar Loaf, NY on August 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday’s shows are at 8pm and Sunday’s show is at 3pm.

Hilarity, failed dishes, and food fights ensue during this "live broadcast" of a public access cable cooking show hosted by two larger-than-life Italian sisters, Delphine and Carmela Calamari. The sisters sing and dance their way through four courses of Italian food with such beloved favorites as "Volare", "Come On A My House", "That's Amore", and of course, "Mambo Italiano!" With a little help in the kitchen from audience members, the sisters entertain with hysterical family anecdotes and musical numbers as they try to make it through their final broadcast together in one piece.

"What we've tried to make it feel like, and I feel we've succeeded at, is going and being with your family for the holidays if you have a big Italian family," said co-creator Daniel Lavender. "And I think it's not just about Italian, I think it's about any family."

"It's one of those shows that people will want to see again and again. Lots of things change within the course of the show from show to show; there's a little bit of audience interaction, so that also influences what happens on stage," said Ann Marie Sanders of the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre.

Tickets for this hilariously interactive show are only $30 per person and can be purchased by calling the Lycian Centre Box Office at (845) 469-2287, Tuesday through Saturday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. or on-line at www.LycianCentre.com. All shows take place rain or shine in the huge, screened-in Wharf Theatre. Free lemonade and cookies are served at intermission.

Kings Theatre Company is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization currently presenting and producing many of the shows held at the Lycian Centre. Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art professional theatre committed to bringing high-quality cultural and entertainment events to the residents of the Mid-Hudson region.
