The Shawangunk Republican Committee meets the first Monday of the month in the Walker Valley Schoolhouse, 6 Marl Rd., & Route 52, Walker Valley NY. The last installment of the Food Preservation Workshops is scheduled for Wednesday August 11th and will be on How to Can Tomatoes & Salsa using the hot water bath method of preserving. There will be an N.R.A. sponsored basic pistol safety course on Saturday August 14th at the Wallkill Rod & Gun Club, Bruyn Turnpike, Wallkill NY. Certified instructors will facilitate the class and it starts promptly at 9:00am. The class takes about 4-5 hours to complete and you will receive an official NRA certificate upon completion.

Pssssst!! Any classic car folks out there? Time to get your applications in for the annual car show scheduled for Sunday September 12th held at the Orange County Farmer’s Museum, 850 Route 17K & Barea Rd., Montgomery NY. Hosted by the Walden Humane Society, this year’s event benefits the Will Spay Pets, Inc. organization. Over 100 cars, trucks, tractors & motorcycles will be on display. There will be trophies awarded, music, food, vendors and a special guest.

Vehicle registration is $10.00 if you apply by August 20th. After that date it will cost you $15.00 but you can also drive in on that day and get entered.
