The Guiding Light Metaphysical Society will hold a Drumming Circle at 7:00pm in the Walker Valley Schoolhouse on Monday April 12. Meditation is at 6:30pm. Free will donations appreciated. Bring drums, rattles, bells or other noisemakers and extras to share if you have them. All levels of experience welcome. Town of Shawangunk Recreation Committee is sponsoring a trip to Atlantic City on Wednesday April 14. The bus leaves from Popp's Park hamlet of Wallkill at 7:00am and will return by 9:00pm. The Walker Valley History meeting will be held on Thursday April 15 at 6:30pm in the firehouse. Walker Valleyan Jon Reed will chronicle the history of his house - Sun Ridge Manor.

Also expected to be there is local author, Fritz Meier. His book, Around Crawford [Arcadia Publishing] is the latest in their series of "Images of America" and covers the Searsville, Thompson Ridge, Bullville and Pine Bush communities.

Photographic images and information gathered while talking to many of his older patients inspired him to write the book. Fritz and his wife, Gretchen, are physical therapists with a practice in Pine Bush NY.

Town of Shawangunk is sponsoring a rabies clinic on Friday April 16 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at the Shawangunk Police Station, Route 208, hamlet of Wallkill NY. Rabies shots will cost $10.00. Other shots will be available for an additional charge per shot.

Dogs must be on leashes and cats in carriers. Town clerk will be there to issue or renew dog licenses. For information call 845.895.2611.

Town of Shawangunk Children’s Summer Program in the Verkeerder Kill Park.
Three two week sessions starting June 28 through August 6.
Activities will include kickball, volleyball, whiffle ball, dodge ball, hiking, basketball, flag football, capture the flag and others.
Each session will end with an all day field trip to a fun park on every other Friday.

Cost for the sessions is as follows: Residents pay $150.00 for each 2 week session for the first child; $130.00 for the second child and $100.00 each for any remaining children in the same family.  Non-residents pay $200.00 per two week session.  The fee covers all costs including busing and admission to the fun parks.  Pre-registration and payment is required.

Hours for the program are 9:00am – 12:00pm Mon-Fri and 9:00am – 3:00pm on field trip Fridays.

Registration will take place on Tuesday April 20 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm in the Verkeerder Kill Park and on Thursday April 22 from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at the town hall in the hamlet of Wallkill.  For any more information contact Donna Vandermark at 845.895.3363.
