Berkheiser to Read at Poetry on the Loose

Jim Berkheiser will read his work at the next program in the Poetry on the Loose Reading/Performance Series. The event will be held at 7 West Street in Warwick at 4:00 p.m. on July 3. Following the feature, others are welcome to read original work. Admission is free. Please enter through the side door on the right side of the building.
Berkheiser has been active as a poet for the past seven years. His work has appeared in the Paterson Literary Review, Edison Literary Review, Poetry Renewal, and Expansion as well as in the anthology Voices from Here published by the Paulinskill Poetry Project. He is on the planning board of the Betty June Silconas Poetry Center at Sussex County Community College and directs the Writer’s Roundtable series.
He had been an actor, director, and stage manager for many years previously. A member of both Actor’s Equity and AFTRA, he participated in many small theater productions in New York City and New Jersey and served on the board of directors for the Off-Off Broadway company, Pretender’s Theater.
The next reading on August 7 will feature Harris Schiff, author of Secret Clouds. A resident of Brooklyn, he has just returned from an extended visit to Central America.
