I'm really disapointed by this, as I'd just got the nod from the boss(mrs) to approach jon about being the other half of the team.

I think some simple analysis of last years results should show clearly if the bec really is the dangerous beast it has been identified as... Did a bec win the event? Surely if jon had no breakdowns he should have completed significantly more laps, yet he only came 10th... Something in the logic doesn't add up.

If you look at the top gear lap record board, which demonstrates the difference a good driver makes, it is clear that the speed differential of an experienced driver is worth many seconds a lap.

If the bec boys happen to know how to drive, then how can the car be identified as the reason for the dangerous speed difference?

Surly all good drivers need to be excluded by the same logic?

Or all slow ones.

Or all slow cars.

My point is clear, speed differentials do exist, and they may be seen as some as a risk, however unless all reasons for speed differentials are removed as outlined above and only average drivers, in average cars are allowed to drive then anyhing less is victimising a small but easily identifyable group.
