Subject: More thanks and the Scots made it home

It's been said and well deserved already but out thanks to Peter and Carol for another superb event and to the Marshals for an outstanding job.

Our thanks also to everyone who stopped to check we were OK on the Thursday morning when our smart decided to jettison the entire exhaust system, clamps, sensors and 25% of the rear wiring loom. I'm equally grateful to the local residents relevant to the last 1.5 days of the Event for accommodating the disproportionate noise associated with our car as we approach and left the villages. We returned from the finish venue on Saturday and managed to get 1000km back to Angouleme before beginning to realise that less than friendly exhaust emissions were entering the cabin on the autoroutes risking the occupants turning blue and expiring well before the UK. Some machining of brackets and tubing by a friend in Angouleme saw us safely back to the UK and completing a 7200km round trip.

Looking forward to next year and to again catching up with some old and new friends on that Event.

Best wishes

Al & Fiona
