Subject: Jimmy McCormick R.I.P.

It is with great regret that I have to inform you that Jimmy McCormick passed away yesterday.
Jimmy was on the first GOME event in 1997 the Leige Agadir Leige navigating for Dick Brenton in the four wheeled Bond Bug.
He was one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet. Great sense of humour allways up for the "Craic" It was Jimmy who told Dick that they had 161 Klicks to do, so he was going to have a snooze, Dick was to wake him when he had done it. When Dick roused him from his sleep after doing 161k Jimmy said oh Sh*t it was 16.1 they arrived at the night stop at about midnight after starting at 8 o/clock that morning. There was no food, and no beer left, Dick was not amused Jimmy was laughing.
Then he set fire to the map reading it with a magnifying glass under the midday sun.
R.I.P. Jimmy
