Im sorry the last message i posted had the wrong e mail address and a few mistakes! I shall start again. My great grandfather Alfred Harris Warmsley ran the crosskeys hotel in 1914. I am trying to find out some history about him.For example,what year did he arrive at the crosskeys hotel and what year he left to live in lymington.Also,his sister florence married,i think a local man called Edmund Morgan in december 1913 in newport. Any information would be gratefully received. many thanks
I have recently discovered my 3x great grandfather Henry wippell was innkeeper at cross keys hotel in the late 1800's. He was from bridgwater somerset but left to become innkeeper here in his later years. He is listed on 1891 census, with his wife harriette bustard wippell. I am hoping to visit the cross keys hotel next year (I am from Australia).
