Kathleen: If you brother lived in Lake Isle in 1959, he would have been the only person in the neighborhood mowing his own lawn. I remember ours being done by Labriola. All of the Dads in Lake Isle then were WWII veterans and mostly professionals who grew up in apartments in the Bronx. I'm amazed they didn't have a Super on retainer. The only chickens in Lake Isle came from the butcher in packages. It was, however, a great place to grow up. Since it was a new neighborhood, everyone moved in at the same time and everyone had kids. There must have been 20 or 30 within three grades of mine.
