When growing up, I had a job as a mother's helper in New Rochelle at one of those baech clubs. That was a great job. Flirt with life guards while kids were swimming, etc Summer before college,I was a checker at Waldbaums. I still tell people that supermarkets were not open late every night. I worked Thursday evening, Friday evening and all day Saturday. Pretty sure markets were not open on Sunday and also not late on Monday Tuesday and Wednesdays. Also had to figure out both tax and change and know prices for produce, etc. My first year teaching, I worked part time school year and full time summer at Lord and Taylors, but spent all my $ on clothes. I literally had one dress when I graduated college.
