That is true, Bob. However, there was a much more heinous murder in Scarsdale which had a very worrisome outcome. A young girl, Bonnie Garland, was murdered by her boyfriend, Richard Herrin. This cretin smashed her head in with a hammer. He was acquitted of murder but found guilty of manslaughter. He was released when he was 40 years old and is living a happy life somewhere. His girlfriend dumped him and he 'couldn't handle it'. Why did he garner so much sympathy while Mrs. H. was vilified?
Anyway, Mrs. H. is an old lady now but did a lot of good work for children of inmates at Bedford Hills; not a single screw loose.
