Hi Barbara, haven't heard from you in ages. My confusion was caused by a website called Yankee Pot Roast. Though I did not look it over thoroughly it appears to be a website where people can write short stories. I found two stories written by a woman named Kathy Salerno with the most recent entry being submitted in March 2007. There is a brief biography and it says Kathy Salerno hails from Eastchester and is a twin. As I have said, I often mixed up Karin and Kathi's names but I was certain it was Kathy who had passed away in the late 1980s. I do not currently have access to my 1972 yearsbook but as you said, I remember Kathi being in our graduating class. I had forgotten Karin married Paul Ranellone and until Lina reminded me of that I could not find any obituary for Karin so for a few days I was all confused. Once I knew her last name was Ranellone I went to the Journal News website and was able to find her obituary. It seems Karin's biological mother, Katheryn, had passed away and her father had married a woman named Diane. Through that second marriage Karin had a step sister whose name is also Kathi. The Journal News has both the late Kathi (Mazzari) and Karin's step sister Kathi spelled with an i but on the website Yankee Pot Roast she spells her name with a y. Apparently it is Karin's step sister who is writing on the website. That explains why Karin, who had a sister named Kathi who passed away in 1988, could have another (step) sister whose name is also Kathi Salerno, writing in 2007.
