Memories of Huntley Farms - Huntley's was truly my home away from home. If there was ever a better grilled swiss and bacon made, I don't know about it. The garnish of the Heinz dill pickle slices (I always asked for extra) and crispy french fries probably led to my middle age issues of high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I also recall when a single dip ice cream cone was 15 cents plus 3 cents for sprinkles. When I was in Anne Hutch, teachers used to congregate there after school. Being something of a teachers pet, I'd hang out waiting for them and would ultimately get my ice cream soda paid for by the likes of Joan Orlinsky, Barbara Venuti or Rose Viggiano. I also recall in high school when EHS girls would work there. One in particular who shall go nameless would wear a very short skirt. A bunch of male friends and me would sit at a booth near the toaster which was propped above the grill. In order to place and remove toast from the toaster required the waitress to get on her tiptoes and reach. We would order several slices of toast on our visit and enjoy the show.
