Remember going up to Woolworth's to splurge for a 79-cent 45? I had a box with all my fave little records in them. It used to require a little plastic pop-in piece for it to play on the record player. My faves were the yellow and red ones. If you kept the 45 in the original paper sleeve, they were less likely to scratch. Wish I could remember the names of some of them... It was REALLY COOL if you could get two decent songs on ONE 45. The Who had one out with "The Seeker" on one side and "Happy Jack" on the other. Great investment.

My maniacal Catholic mother (mentioned in another thread previously) checked each and every one I brought home. She made me bring back a 45 by the 1910 Fruitgum Company called "Yummy Yummy Yummy I got love in my tummy." (Okay, I admit to having purchased such dreck but was only about twelve). In 1966 (?) such talk was scandalous, LOL.
