Still painful; still awful; still almost impossible to fathom.
Mercifully, I didn't have a connection to anyone who died. I can't begin to imagine what those who did have gone through in the past five years.
Does it seem insensitive and thoughtless to say "Life goes on" to those folks? I'm sure every one of them still grieves in their own unique way. While I would never, ever minimize their grief and loss, I do hope that those left behind can continue onwards, and find some joy out there, somewhere in their lives. Let's hope.
