I think we may be talking about two different restaurants; Artie's which was on the corner of Orchard Place and White Plains Road and someone else mentioned Jasons. I don't know anything about Jasons as it did not exist in the mid 50's to the best of my knowledge.

Leewood Circle, according to Google map, is one block south of EHS off White Plains Road to the east at Lincoln Ave. I remember it as an apartment complex. I vaguely remember a restaurant after 1955 on the left side of WP Road north of the Lincoln Ave traffic lite about opposite of EHS. I think a restaurant came into being there sometime after the mid 50's. Jernigan Pontiac was just south of it on WP Road on the same side.
