Subject: Obituary - Della M. McKnight - Elmo's Mom - Class of 64

Della M. McKnight

Della M. McKnight, 80, of Cleveland, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, at Bolivar Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in New Cleveland Cemetery with the Rev. Milton Chaney officiating under the direction of Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McKnight was born on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1924 and died on Christmas Eve, 2005. She grew up in Merigold and after retiring, again settled in Merigold. She married Elmo McKnight on Dec. 23, 1941. The last four years were spent at Bolivar Medical Center/Long Term Care. She was a loving devoted mother and wife and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank McGovern and Allie Philley McGovern.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Elmo McKnight of Cleveland; five children, Jerry Taylor, and her husband, Doug, from Shaw, Elmo McKnight Jr., and his wife, Beverly, from Kilmichael, Margaret McKnight, Joe McKnight and Gayle McKnight, all from Cleveland; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
