George Campbell's health - Update #2

I just spoke at length with Donna about George. As has been previously noted, George has a bacterial infection from an unknown source, but there are several possibilities of the origin. This bacterial infection has attacked his heart. He had some tests run the last week of July in Jackson, and Donna returned him to Jackson today for the results. On one side, the doctors are saying surgery is not immanent, but will probably need to be done within say a year. On the other side, the surgeons are banging the drums for surgery sooner rather than later, like next week. Donna said there is one doctor who she trusts with her decision making. So the outcome is still in the future, and George will make the ultimate decision.

Donna relayed to me she is in no real financial crisis at the moment, unless the gasoline costs get way out of bounds. I know we can all relate. She is making daily trips to Ruleville to see George and to sit and take care of his needs as much as she can. She is only asking for our prayers at this time, and for any/all of us to contact George at any time. He is back in the swing-bed unit at Ruleville Hospital. George's short-term memory is slipping badly. He may recognize your voice, and yet again he may not. This memory thing is something which has been steadily growing worse for quite some time, so don't be discouraged should he not recognize you.
